First Look III opens May 22nd!

First Look III is an exhibition showcasing 12 outstanding MFA students from across the United States.


Artists selected include: Steven Chapman (School of Visual Arts), Gabriel Dawe (University of Texas at Dallas), Nadja Frank (Columbia University), Shadi Harouni (New York University), Yoshiaki Mochizuki (Hunter College), Meleko Mokgosi (University of California Los Angeles), Irvin Morazan (Hunter College), Jong Hyun Oh (School of Visual Arts), Erik Schoonebeek (Rutgers University), Joseph Varas (School of Visual Arts;), Virginia Wagner (Maryland Institute College of Art), and Samantha Wall (Pacific Northwest College of Art).


First Look III is open from May 22 until July 24, 2011.
Opening Reception is on Sunday May 22 4-7pm.


Gabriel Dawe installs "Plexus No. 6" at HVCCA.

Hirschhorn's installation featured at The Power Plant

The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, located in Toronto Canada, is currently featuring Thomas Hirschhorn's largest and most visceral sculptural installations,
Das Auge (The Eye).


Das Auge (The Eye), which will be open through May 29th,was first presented at the Vienna Secession in 2008. The exhibition is based around the image of an eye that sees only the color red.

The exhibition also an published interview between Thomas Hirschhorn and Gregory Burke (Director of The Power Plant and organizer of the exhibition) discussing the installation.
